What is EQuiltBlocks.Com?
EQuiltBlocks.Com is a source for free full size quilt block patterns
and designs. We also have a small store. This
site exists to provide tools, instructions, and inspiration for
quilters -- if you make a quilt using one of our patterns or
designs, send us a picture and we'll post it for everyone to
see!
All the designs on this site are free for use - you may copy
them, make quilts out of them, and sell quilts made from them,
as long as you credit us with the original design. If you want
to sell the block patterns or designs, contact us for terms (and
see our legal information, below.
How do I find a quilt block?
There are two ways of finding a quilt block. First, you can click
on "Browse" (on the left side of this page, or at the
bottom), to page through all the quilt blocks on the site. This
method is good when you're not sure exactly what you're looking
for, or when you're looking for inspiration. The blocks are listed
in alphabetical order; you may know a block by a different name.
We tried to use the most common name for each block, based on
our sources.
Second, you can click on "Search" (again, on the
left or bottom of this page), and enter the name of the block
you want. This is a good way to find a block when it's commonly
known by only one name, and when you know exactly what you want.
It's also a good way to find all the nine-patch patch blocks,
or all the stars, etc..
How do I make a quilt?
We now include basic instructions on making a quilt:
These instructions are very simple, and are on our list of
things to revisit later. Our store (see below) is a good source
of quilting books with more complete instructions and ideas -
we encourage you to purchase some if you are new to quilting.
What's in your store?
Right now, we stock original EQuiltBlocks.Com patterns, and through our affiliate programs we provide books, magazine subscriptions, and miscellaneous items related to quilting. You can reach the store by clicking "Shop" on the left side or bottom of this page. We encourage online vendors to contact us at ads@equiltblocks.com
to list their products in our store - we're always interested
in expanding!
How do I submit a block?
If there's a block you'd like to see on our site, you may send
it to us to be included. Just send us a picture of the block,
the place where you found it, and your name, and we'll add it
to the site with your name listed as the contributor! If more
than one person submits the same block, the first one will get
the credit, so be sure your block isn't already on the site before
sending it to us.
Can I advertise on your site?
We would love to have you advertise on our site! We take
quilt related advertisements and additions to our store, and
members get a 10% discount on banner ads. Please contact ads@equiltblocks.com for
more information.
Do you have a legal disclaimer?
Why, yes, we do! Thank you for asking. :) It explains that we
do not post copyrighted material without permission, we can pull
any information or anyone's membership off the site for any reason
(though we hope not to have to), and other important information.
